Musical Composition

Music

Musical composition can happen in advance with an aim towards repeat performance or it can happen on the spot when musicians improvise or jam. Composition describes the formal construction of a piece of music, both it’s incarnation on paper and its performance incarnation. Originally Western music was composed for the church and for worship. Its function was to be repeated but the artistic/creative elements of musical composition were lacking as the music itself was more pedagogical in purpose. Once polyphonic sounds began to creep in, composers began to record music on paper for future performance. This begins to happen when the view of music starts to change from that of a form of worship to a form of worship that also provides audio pleasure.

There is a mathematical precision to musical composition that is present in most studies of musical theory.

Though music is a creative art, its composition and performance is both scientific and mathematical and adheres to certain rules of rhythm and spacing on the page in order to sound a particular way.

Traditional Gregorian Chant notation, some of the first written music in Western culture, is written in “neumes”. Neumes are the most basic building block of musical notation and predate the introduction of the five line staff notation. These original notations were simple dashes on a page. They did not always indicate a note to be sung as far as the pitch was concerned, but, rather, were an indication in what kind of sound was to be made and sometimes in what order. Though neumes are visually reminiscent of their later incarnation in the five line staff notation, their rules were completely different. Two, dashes, one a top of the other, might mean that the bottom “note” was to be sung first followed by the top. Other things are very close in range. For instance, when a dot was placed after a neume it was meant to indicate that the note was to be a held for a length of time. This same structure exists in modern music in the five line staff notation.

The earliest neumes were actually Aramaic, and did not originate in the early Christian Church. They were originally used to indicate how and with what tonal attributes a religious text was meant to be read. The utilization of neumes was the first step towards the composition and formal construction of music.

Music Technology

Music

The term music technology actually refers to the devices, techniques, styles, or effects which music artists use to enhance or even create a musical piece. One of the most common application of music technology is the music editing software that a lot of music artists use so that they may be able to arrange their songs easily.

Other may also use special effects which may contribute to the improvement of the song being created. A lot of musical genres such as techno use this kind of music technology in enhancing the outcome of a single music. Almost all of the techno songs nowadays are produced using computer editing software or computer-generated sounds or special effects.

This only shows that the technology itself is a broad field and is not only limited to one particular field.

Everything is possible with technology as long as you know how to use it properly. If you want to further your knowledge with music technology, you may find a university which offers this particular type of course. There are actually numerous universities nowadays which offer a course in music technology. The scope in the course music technology is not only limited to the music industry that we know today because it may also tackle programming, acoustic science, and music theories.

Music technology is actually a combination of two different fields namely music and technology. With this reason, it is just right that a student of someone who wants to know more about music technology itself should be knowledgeable of both music and technology.

This is to ensure that he will be able to cope with the challenges that he might encounter along the way.

If you are the type of person who knows a lot when it comes to computers and you also love music, then you should consider music technology as a viable career for you.

Country music

Music

Music is very relaxing. After a day of studying hard, it is fun to listen to some music at home. You can even play a musical instrument for a while. Music relieves the tension caused by the problems of a long day of work. Music can cheer you up when you are sad.

There are many different types of music such as classical, popular, country, western and jazz. For example, country music features simple themes and melodies describing day-to-day situations and the feelings of country people. Many people appreciate this kind of music because of the emotions expressed in these songs. Some songs become popular all over the world.

Country music is a blend of popular musical forms originally found in the Southern United States and the Appalachian Mountains. It has roots in traditional folk music, Celtic music, gospel music, and old-time music and evolved rapidly in the 1920s.The term country music began to be used in the 1940s when the earlier term hillbilly music was deemed to be degrading, and the term was widely embraced in the 1970s, while country and western has declined in use since that time, except in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it is still commonly used.

The beginnings of art music in England can be traced to plainsong (plainchant).

With the aid of monks and troubadours traveling throughout Europe, musical forms of many regions were freely intermingled and spread quickly. In the 16th and 17th centuries, England produced many notable composers, among them John Dowland, Thomas Morley, Thomas Tallis, and, perhaps greatest of all, William Byrd. The musical stature of the Baroque composers Henry Purcell and George Frideric Handel remains unquestioned. Music in England reached another peak in the late 19th century, when comic opera attained near perfection in the work of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. Later significant composers include Edward Elgar, Gustav Holst, William Walton, and Benjamin Britten.

I do enjoy music very much. I find that listening to a soloist playing and singing is an exciting experience. Whenever you feel sad, you can just turn on the radio and listen to some music. Nothing beats music when it comes to cheering someone up. Whenever you hear music, you can see people smiling and tapping their feet along with the beat.

Everybody knows that planning the perfect music for your event can be stressful whether you are looking for unique entertainment or simply background moods.  You may be booking for either wedding music, corporate event music or are having a special commission being performed and yet the anxious feeling still remains the same.  In an ideal world you want to be complimented about your booking decision by your peers but when you are relying on other people to be on time, be professional and provide the goods it can make you on edge until after the event.

So here is some tips to help you get your day right!

What type of music do I need?

Firstly you need to decide what you are wanting to achieve with the music.  Is it simply background music or is it a performance you require?  If you think your guests are going to want to chat and not need to shout, you need to choose background music.  A featured performance can be an excellent way to signify the event is moving into a new phase e.g. speeches or a lecture, or it can signify the end of your event.

Music Teaching Tips That Work

Most of us music teachers aim to offer the best services to our students and let them learn their chosen instruments in the most efficient manner. Having a good teaching strategy will not only give your students fun learning experience but it will also earn you respect in the field. Thus, I have listed some music teaching tips that will enable you to teach your students effectively.

* Target both your students’ minds and bodies – Especially if your students are still young, you must understand that they may need a combination of physical and mental exercises and activities in learning. Aside from the fun it may bring to them, the possibility of understanding and recalling the lesson you are teaching may also increase.

* Learn how to energize students during boring moments – there will always be some instances wherein you have to discuss some important topics that are somewhat uninteresting to your students. These may lead to an inattentive class or worse, a sleeping class. Being observant and flexible is important to bring back a lively discussion. Why not ask them to do some stretching or tell some old jokes. Detaching fro the lesson plan for some minutes is better that to teach a daydreaming class.
